Time and the Hours is a newly recorded collection of  Troy Chapman compositions presented as a representation of a day: from the sunrise of “Tango de la Vie”  to dawning of “Turkish Morning".

I set out on this project to create music that filtered decades of musical influences ranging from The Carpenters to Claude Debussy to African pop radio to Jim Hall to Laurie Anderson to the music of India to Django Reinhardt to John Coltrane to Cheap Trick to John Cage to Taraf de Haidouks. I’ve loved it all and this is what I hear now. It’s jazz, it’s music. It’s whatever you want to name it. But I like it. I hope you enjoy the day.

"Time and the Hours" is available digitally here now. The physical CD will be available in March 2014 and iTunes and other digital stores soon. I'm excited to have been joined in the studio by two amazing players: drummer Scott Small, and bassist Jon Small as well as a guest appearance by cellist James Hinkley on "Turkish Morning".
